AJ has been backing up the New York City King of Blues, Popa Chubby (Blind Pig/Dixie Frog), for the past three years.

He has done extensive touring in the U.S., Europe, Africa, and the U.K. averaging 180 shows per year. AJ has also been on some of the biggest TV and radio channels Europe has to offer including, France 2, Direct 8, and RTL. Some of the major festivals AJ has been part of are: Memphis in May, Bospop, The Nice Jazz Festival, and The San Sebastian Jazz Festival. These festivals have allowed AJ to share the stage with some pretty heavy acts such as Sting, Jerry Lee Lewis, Godsmack, Marcus Miller, and Government Mule to name a few. In 2006, AJ played on Popa’s tribute to Jimi Hendrix entitled, “Electric Chubbyland” which was a three c.d. release. This led to a live dvd with the same title. The following year AJ played on Popa’s 2007 release “Deliveries After Dark.” Earlier this year AJ was enlisted to play on Big Ed Sullivan’s newest release, “It Takes a Big Man” (Dixie Frog). AJ is currently working on Popa’s new album slated for a 2010 release on Provogue Records.

Prior to joining forces with Popa Chubby, AJ played with independent rock band, eve to adam. (KDS). They released two albums under Caroline/Shelter Distribution and toured the all over US. They were fortunate to have played the world famous CBGB’s before it was torn down which led to opening for major bands like Tesla, Geoff Tate, and Type O Negative.

AJ got his start in music education in Hollywood, CA where he attended Musician’s Institute. He graduated as “Outstanding Student” and went on to be a teacher’s assistant and Hard Rock Live Playing Workshop instructor the following year.

For the past nine years AJ has maintained a steady roster of private students in New York City, which led him to start production on his first Instructional book due out in 2010. He was recently asked to join forces with Ben Carroll, Jaime Vendera, and Jon Donais to teach on RockSource 360, the global rock musician's resource.
