Marco Sfogli
Born in 1980, Marco Sfogli started playing music when he was four years old. He got his first electric guitar at the age of nine and started playing along with heroes like Van Halen, Europe and others. In 1992 he switched to drums which helped him develop a keen rhythmic knowledge. He switched back to guitar at sixteen and never looked back.
He has worked as a session player in Italy for many artists and played for the top World Music band, Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolare, touring extensively with them around the world. Repeatedly referred to as one of the hottest guitar players of the next generation, Marco is proficient in almost every genre from straight pop tunes to mind blowing fusion compositions.
Marco recently linked up with Dream Theater vocalist James Labrie, and layed down the guitar tracks for Labrie’s latest solo album, “Elements of Persuasion,” and played the "Persuasion" world tour. Since then he has earned the privilege of recording and/or appearing with Simon Phillips, Greg Bissonette, Matt Bissonette, Matt Guillory, Jordan Rudess, Adam Nitti, Alex Argento, Mike Mangini, Bryan Beller, Rod Morgenstein, Virgil Donati, John Macaluso, Vitalij Kuprij, Randy Coven, and many more.
When he isn’t touring, or recording Marco loves to share his skills and talent with aspiring guitarists. He is proud to be associated with RockSource 360 because it allows him to work with talented students from around the world.
